THE first reunion event of Islamic university (IU) Al-Hadith and Islamic Studies department was held on the campus in Kushtia on Saturday amid much festivity.

Around one thousands former and current students of the department from 1991-92 to 2022-23 academic sessions throngned the campus to celebrate the reunion.

Marking the day, the former and current teachers and students of the department brought out a colourful procession from in front of the University’s Faculty Building in the morning. The procession ended in front of the Bir Shertha Hamidur Rahaman Auditorium. Leter, a discussion progam and cultural events were held there.

IU Vice-Chancellor Professor M shaikh Abdus salam attended the program as chief guest. IU Pro-vice Chancellor Professor M Mahbubur Rahman, Treasurer Professor M Alamgir Hossian Bhuiya, arts faculty dean Professor H.N.M Ershad Ullah and founding chairman of the department were the special guests with Porfessor M Syed Maksudur Rahman, Chairman of the department in the chair.

Among others, Proctor Professor Dr. Shahadat Hossain Azad, Student Advisor Professor Dr. Selina Nasrin, Transport Administrator Professor Dr. Anowar Hossain, General Secretary of Teacher Association professor Dr. Tapan Kumar Gooder, General Secretary of Shapla Forum Professor Dr. M Mahbubur Rahman were present here.
